Mythos

The myth represents the memory of the earliest times of humanity, still a child, when the Gods walked among men and mingled with them, giving rise to heroic lineages, some of which still move the various events of history on Earth. The forces that animated the protagonists of the ancient stories are represented, for the most part, by the courage, the pride of the human condition, by pride (in Greek hybris) and by love, which, in turn, at that time included four different aspects. The term eros meant sensual love, understood as the selfish desire for possession. with the term antéros mutual sensual love and, therefore, corresponded. with the term philía, love based on an equal relationship of affection, devoid of any desire for possession, of which friendship can be an example. with the term agápe the love that is projected into a complete offering of oneself, that love that does not need any reciprocation. The same forces also animate the protagonists who shape the history of our days.

Book illustrated with 38 tables.
