Paolo Loffredo, sixth generation of a large family of publishers and booksellers engaged in the production and distribution of books since the late nineteenth century, creates in 2012 the new editorial company Paolo Loffredo Editore. The historical site was until the '80s in the heart of the historic centre of Naples in Via San Biagio dei Librai, lower Decumano and also known as the SpaccaNapoli.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Giuseppe Loffredo decided to add book selling to the book production, which definitively imposed itself after World War II with the publication of manuals for the University and for the School that succeeded in establishing themselves soon throughout Italy.

Description
Proclo e il poeta che è nel tutto
There is a profound bond that binds together all the elements of the universe as seen by Proclus. A network that weaves relationships, more or less visible, based on similarity. Within the meshes of this network, a special place is reserved for the poet, because he elaborates stories and images using symbols, the evocative tool par excellence, the object of reference, capable of revealing what it simultaneously conceals. This study follows the exegetical strategies used by Proclus, scholar of the School of Athens in the 5th century AD, not to save Homer from Plato's apparent accusations, but to save Plato from himself. In Plato's dialogues, characters speak "as if on a stage," writes Proclus. If Homer were expelled from the just city, Plato would suffer the same fate. Plato, however, is always true to himself, and Homer can enter the City of Philosophers. The volume, consisting of three chapters, offers an in-depth analysis of Dissertations V and VI of Proclus' Commentary on the Republic. Through reading these, one will discover how the poet finds himself, in that Whole which is the hierarchical structure of reality imagined by Proclus, at a level close to the First Principle, and is the creator of symbols capable of provoking in the reader that illumination which leads to assimilation to the divine, the ultimate goal of philosophical life.
