Paolo Loffredo, sixth generation of a large family of publishers and booksellers engaged in the production and distribution of books since the late nineteenth century, creates in 2012 the new editorial company Paolo Loffredo Editore. The historical site was until the '80s in the heart of the historic centre of Naples in Via San Biagio dei Librai, lower Decumano and also known as the SpaccaNapoli.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Giuseppe Loffredo decided to add book selling to the book production, which definitively imposed itself after World War II with the publication of manuals for the University and for the School that succeeded in establishing themselves soon throughout Italy.

Description
LEOPARDI OLTRE LA «SIEPE»
Con l’edizione critica dell’orazione Agl’Italiani
The six chapters that comprise the first part of this volume reconstruct the turbulent literary journey of the "early Leopardi." He, struggling to free himself from the ideological and religious shackles of classicist culture, arrived, after the two "censored songs," the draft of Telesilla and the Inni cristiani, at the nihilistic, innovative discovery of the infinite as "indefinite" (and of the nonexistence of the infinite). The second part is divided into three chapters: the first reconstructs, through a detailed reading of the texts, the Contino's meditation on the theory of literary genres; the second highlights, with an eye on the text and the other on history, the Alfierian component of his political ideology; the third illustrates the strong influence of pedagogy, then acquiring its scientific connotations, on the development of Leopardi's thought. The third part presents a critical edition of Leopardi's oration "Agl'Italiani."

Giuseppe Rando, former professor of Italian Literature at the University of Messina, is a member of the National Committee for the National Edition of Federico De Roberto's Opera Omnia; he also directs literary criticism series. A scholar of Southern Italian literature, he has reprinted forgotten works by Boner, Cesareo, Onufrio, Misasi, Deledda, and Alvaro; he also collected together, for the first time, the Novelle disperse by Enrico Onufrio (2004) and, in 2007, the scattered short stories by Corrado Alvaro, under the title Gente che passa. Interested in the relationship between journalism and literature, he contributed an Introduzione and an extensive Prefazione to the reprint of Salvatore Quasimodo's Colloqui (2012) and Il falso e il vero verde (2014) (edited by C. Mauro). In 2020, he published Resistere a Messina.
