Parnaso napoletano. Poeti e scrittori del regno di Napoli

In the current publishing scene, the essential contribution offered by Neapolitan writers and writers to the construction of the national literary tradition, both in the vernacular and in Latin, is substantially irrelevant, despite the fact that from the first postunitarian decades there have been praiseworthy and appreciated attempts to safeguard the specificity of a long lasting history, from the dawn of the Aragonese kingdom until the annexation of 1860.
Lacking still today modern and critically founded editions of important authors, who from Naples knew how to dialogue with Italy and Europe, it is difficult to reconstruct an essential chapter of the Italian literary events, characterized even after the Unit from the survival of traits specific regional traditions that constitute one of the original features of our national history.
The series "Neapolitan Parnassus" intends to offer critically reliable editions and accompanied by commentary on the works of writers born and / or experienced in the Kingdom of Naples, placing itself as a meeting place for young and not so young scholars, sharing a philological method which focuses on the centrality of texts, lightened by every encumbrance of an ideological nature to return them to the time and places where they were created.
