«UMBRIA CARMINIBUS NON INHONORA MEIS»
PROSPETTIVE EUROPEE SULLA LETTERATURA DI PERUGIA E DINTORNI

This book is an essential contribution to Umbria’s literal history, starting from Humanism to the first years of the XIX Century: a story which has its specific traits in the vitality authors coming from marginal places have always shown, confronting themselves with a national and international environment.

[…]

The book shows an historical and philological evaluation of John Butcher, his ability to front historical and textual different situations, his capacity to listen to different literal forms on the basis of the lived situations, relationships and cultural connections. He is also capable of focusing on “minor” writers and intellectuals, on marginal situations, in which he matures his writing experience. He’s able to recognize historical signs in Umbria and from Umbria to Europe, in a civil European dimension, which finds its definition in regional and local realities.
